Ange Postecoglou insists the possible role VAR could play in the Viaplay Cup final hasn't entered his thinking.

The Celtic boss refused to dwell on the possibility of VAR decisions proving pivotal in the showpiece final against Rangers at Hampden.

Instead, Postecoglou has urged his players to control the factors they can influence in the powderkeg fixture. 

“I don’t worry," said Postecoglou when asked if he fears VAR could have an impact. "I’ve had my say on VAR a while back.

“But I’ve never gone into a game worried about decisions the referee is going to make.

“The beauty of our game is that no-one can write a script on how it’s going to go on Sunday. No-one can predict it.

“Something can happen in the first minute that changes the dynamic of everything that happens.

“What I tell the players is that, to the best of our ability, we control the things we can control.

“Things might interfere with that, like the opposition or the conditions - the pitch in the semi-final was tough for us.

“It could be a mistake or a referee’s decision, a moment of magic from someone. 

“We can’t control those things. But we can deal with them if we do the stuff we control really well.

“I don’t let it enter my thinking and the players are the same.

“Whatever it is out there that we have to overcome, we have to find a way to do it."

While VAR is out of control for Celtic boss Postecoglou, he does have the luxury of a fully fit squad available for selection this afternoon.

The Australian boss confirmed Kyogo Furuhashi is fit for the fixture with Aaron Mooy also set to feature in the cup final.

Postecoglou is reaping the benefits of bolstering his squad with significant contributions from all quarters and substitutes in recent weeks.

He said: “We’re in a good position and that’s reflected in our performances in recent weeks after the break.

“We’ve been really strong because it hasn’t just been one or two players. It’s been a contribution from everyone.

“Every week, someone will say this bloke has been outstanding. The following week it’s another guy.

“The key to that is a really strong squad. Guys are coming on and having a massive impact.

“That’s a good place to be leading into a big game like this.

“Because we know that, irrespective of who starts, we’ll get an impact from guys coming on as well.

“We’ve got multiple threats and the goals are being shared around aside from Kyogo who has been a consistent scorer. We’re getting goals from all other areas.

“We’ve had fantastic performances from different groups of players."
