With so many strike dates to keep an eye on, it can be somewhat difficult to know when services like schools and trains are on and when they are not in operation.

This is why we have created a handy list to outline all the strike dates affecting Glasgow over March and April.

Recently, teachers across Scotland announced a campaign of industrial action over pay and working conditions amid "anger and frustration towards ministers and employers".

Other sectors are also experiencing strikes, limiting the use of trains and certain services during union action.

When are strikes taking place in Glasgow?

A number of unions and workers have announced their intention to strike over the next few months - here are the strikes taking place:

Teachers

After striking for two days from Tuesday, February 28 to March 2, The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) announced a further 20-day rolling strike over March and April.

These strikes are taking place on different dates across the 32 council areas of Scotland.

In Glasgow, all secondary and primary school teachers will strike on April 20 while Primary and Secondary staff will strike on April 21 and 19 respectively.

EIS has also set out regional strikes for the city with the constituency of outgoing First Minister Nicola Sturgeon being targetted between March 7 and 9.

These strikes come as educators demand a 10% pay increase while the Scottish Government claim such a rise would be unaffordable.

Trains

While no ScotRail strikes have been announced, strikes taking place across England and Wales may impact train services in Glasgow.

Workers from 14 train operators will walk out on March 16, 18, 30 and April 1 after RMT announced new dates.

Members of Network Rail will also strike on March 16 with a ban on overtime being announced by maintenance and operations workers across the country.

Civil Servants

Civil servants announced they would strike on Wednesday, March 15, the day of the UK Government's Spring Budget.

Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) said the strike would affect dozens of government departments including DVLA and the Home Office.

University Strikes

University staff have announced new strikes for March 16, 17, 20, 21 and 22 for universities across the UK.

Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow School of Art, Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow are among those striking over pay and working condition as well as pensions.

Driving Examiners

The PCS union announced that strikes would be taking place in the North of England and Scotland on March 27 and 28, meaning those who have booked a test on these dates will be affected.
