STAFF at Mortons Rolls have said they are 'worried sick' about paying their bills after the company ceased trading.
The Drumchapel-based bakery, which employs about 250 people, sent a letter to staff on Friday telling employees that they were being 'laid off with immediate effect'.
The company, best known for its iconic crispy rolls, has said that no final decision has been taken on redundancies, but has admitted that 'all jobs are at risk'.
The Glasgow Times spoke to one worker - who asked to remain anonymous - who says people are worried about how they will pay their bills.

He added: “All jobs are at risk, and no-one knows what will happen next. We just can’t get any straight answers.
“People are worried sick about making mortgage payments and keeping up with their gas, electric and council tax. We don’t even know if there will be any redundancy offers made, the lack of transparency has been ridiculous.
“Everyone has just been left in limbo and we’re all disgusted at how this has been handled. Folk just didn't expect the factory to cease trading overnight and hardworking staff deserve to know what’s going on. There’s a real sense of disbelief and anger toward the directors.
“It’s a very worrying time for us all.”

It's understood Bill Kidd, SNP MSP for Glasgow Anniesland, has arranged a meeting with the company's management in a bid to save the jobs.
Mortons Rolls has been approached by the Glasgow Times for comment but our calls and emails to the company have gone unanswered.
