A SUPPORT worker has been placed on a warning after failing to help a patient who had fallen.
Alistair Bradley was ordered to carry out a 48-month warning period after it emerged he did not seek medical advice after a patient in his care fell on February 13, 2022, while working with Community Care Choice Ltd in Shawlands.
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) found that Bradley lifted the man up himself, instead of following protocol and asking for assistance, and never recorded the incident in the official log book.

Later that day, Bradley reported an assault to his employer but failed to bring up the man's fall.
He did not mention it to his manager during a phone call the following day or on two incident forms which were completed later in the week.
During a meeting with management on February 16, it was stated Bradley claimed the patient, known as AA, did not fall and claimed he hadn't picked him up off the floor, which the SSSC branded "dishonest" and the behaviours were "serious in nature".
A report said: "Social services workers are expected to treat service users with dignity and respect, and to protect them from harm.

"By acting contrary to your employer’s procedure on the reporting and recording of accidents, you have been a potential source of harm by failing to ensure a vulnerable service user received proper assistance following a fall.
"Social services workers are also expected to always work with honesty and integrity. By not telling your employer that AA had fallen to his injury, you have failed to act honestly because you sought to conceal that AA had fallen and that you helped him up.
"This gives rise to concerns about your underlying values and as the concealment continues over a three-day period, the behaviour amounted to a pattern of dishonesty.
"While no harm came to the service user as a result of your dishonesty, there was a significant risk of harm to AA due to your intentional failure to disclose the incident and seek appropriate medical advice for AA."
