THE team behind a popular Oban coffee roastery has its sights set on the Southside as it prepares to open a second Glasgow location in collaboration with an acclaimed West End restaurant.
We previously told the story of Hinba, a west coast business run by Ferg McCoss and Ness Achilles, which opened the doors to its first city cafe on Dumbarton Road in May last year.

At the time Ferg said: “We were super excited, but I was also a little anxious to open in Glasgow because coffee is a really big thing here.
“This was the first time that our coffee would be judged by people who knew their stuff in this kind of environment.
“Since opening, we’ve had baristas or shop owners stop by to chat about coffee all day.”
Now in exciting news for Southside coffee buffs, Hinba has revealed plans to move into the former home of The Luchador and The Last Rodeo at 721 Pollokshaws Road with work already well under way.
Far from just serving up artisan roasted beans, the new space will transform into a wine bar and tasting menu restaurant at night thanks to an ongoing partnership with Dumbarton Road neighbours Eighty Eight.

Announcing the news on social media, Hinba said: “Hinba number three, coming soon to Glasgow Southside.
"We’ve teamed up with the team behind @88glasgow to bring you speciality coffee and lunch during the day, followed by a tasting menu restaurant and wine bar by night.
“Stay tuned for updates.”
We can already see this new addition to the neighbourhood becoming a firm favourite in time for summer.
