MORE areas in Glasgow are to have restricted parking zones this year.
Glasgow City Council is planning another 17 parking zones this year on top of the 22 that already exist.
It will see residents having to buy a permit and visitors subject to parking charges to park in the streets.
The council said its Parking Services will monitor the performance of recently introduced parking schemes and will also continue with its remit to roll out further parking restriction zones in the future across the city.

Some are due to be in place by as early as May with others expected later in the summer.
Last week the Glasgow Times reported how on-street parking charges are to double for the first hour and increase for further minutes.
Parking fines are also to rise to £100 or £50 if paid within 14 days, up from £60 or £30 if paid in 14 days.
Parking schemes, where charges will be introduced where currently there are no restrictions, include on streets in Broomhill, Thornwood, Kirklee, Barras South and St Vincent Street/Argyle Street/Dumbarton Road, which are due to go live by May this year.

Other resident parking zones for Dennistoun, Royston and Hutchesontown are expected to be implemented this summer.
Schemes that are “in progress include Sighthill, Springhill Parkway, and at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital".
More are at the “early design stage including Dalmarnock West, Grantley Gardens, Crown Circus, Dowanhill, and amendments to Bell Street, Clyde Street and Bothwell Street".
The Glasgow Times also reported last week that plans for parking zones at Celtic Park and Ibrox Stadium on matchdays are back on the agenda.
George Gillespie, executive director of neighbourhoods, said: “Twenty-two parking zones within Glasgow have been introduced to assist with issues of resident parking caused by an influx of commuter parking or residents from other areas seeking free parking.”
