AN 8ft gorilla statue stolen from a garden centre has possibly been sighted.
Reynard Nursery in Carluke previously issued a light-hearted Liam Neeson-style appeal to track down its beloved statue Gary after he was stolen last month.
Now two and a half weeks on, the staff took to social media to inform their customers and followers that they have been made aware of a potential sighting of the giant ape on the back of a truck in England.
A spokesperson said: "We have been informed that a gorilla statue very similar to Gary has just been spotted on the back of a black pickup going northbound on the M40 by Warwick Services at 9.30am today, April 6."
A photo of the possible sighting was shared on social media.
The team at Reynard added: "We are asking if anyone happens to be going by this way to keep your eyes peeled in case it is him and we can get him back."
Anyone with information on the theft is urged to call Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0588 of Monday, March 20.
