A PETITION has been launched to save Glasgow bus services from being pulled amid antisocial behaviour.

First Glasgow has threatened to withdraw evening services 3, 10, 57 and X8 after experiencing a wave of arson attacks on buses.

Now members of the Pollok community, which will be affected by the potential cuts to services, have started a petition to save them.

A post shared on a Crookston and Pollok community page reads: "Save Pollok bus services (3,10, 57 and X8).

"After a spate of antisocial behaviour First Bus is threatening to cut the bus service(s) in Pollok.

"This service is a lifeline for many residents.

"Please sign the petition below to save the service and get your voice heard.

"Feel free to contact councillor Rashid Hussain on rashid.hussain@glasgow.gov.uk."

Last month we reported that a bus near Silverburn was set alight by firebugs, resulting in the driver forcing an evacuation of the vehicle.

While there were no injuries, the double-decker was badly damaged, and First said it was the latest in a 'cluster' of incidents.

Police also revealed they would have both uniformed and plainclothes officers on buses in a bid to reassure the community and prevent antisocial behaviour.
