POLICE have confirmed a call which caused emergency services to race to a Linwood street last night was a hoax.
Officers rushed into action after receiving a report of people being injured in Muirhead Drive at around 12.20am today.
It is understood a number of ambulances also attended the scene.
However, on arrival, it became apparent that the emergency services had received a hoax call.
An investigation was launched and is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.20am on Wednesday, April 19, police received a report of people being injured in the Muirhead Drive area of Linwood.
"Officers attended and established this was a false call. Enquiries are ongoing."
