McDonald's has opened a new restaurant in a move creating over 100 jobs.
The fast food giant opened the doors of its new venue in Cumbernauld on April 26.
It will bring 110 full and part-time jobs to the local area and the restaurant enjoys all the usual customer features such as dine-in, takeaway, drive-thru, delivery and Click and Serve services.
Open seven days a week from 7am to 11pm, the new chain also has a large outside patio area.
The Cumbernauld branch has opened following a significant investment from local franchisee Elliot Jardine, who now owns and operates eleven restaurants in Scotland.
Elliot said: “We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Cumbernauld and can’t wait to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer.
"People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create.
"We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality.”
It comes after McDonald's began rolling out a new programme designed to revamp and improve its restaurants, Convenience of the Future.
In 2022, 200 McDonald's restaurants across the country were upgraded, and another 800 are planned over the next four years in a bid to combine a new restaurant layout with the latest technology to enhance customer experiences.
This includes a new front counter design to give more space to customers, avoid congestion around order touchscreens and reduce queues.
Dedicated courier waiting areas will allow the staff to better accommodate delivery drivers' needs as well as reduce congestion in the dining area, and couriers will also have their own parking area.
Kitchens will be designed differently to create a bigger order assembly area, with dedicated spaces to prepare McDelivery and dine-in orders.
