Cops searching for the partner of Marelle Sturrock have found a body.
After the body of pregnant teacher Marelle, 35, had been found at her home in Jura Street on Tuesday morning, a search was launched for her partner David Yates who was wanted in connection with her death.
Now police have confirmed that they have recovered a body in the Mugdock Reservoir on Thursday.
He is yet to be formally identified but it is believed to be 36-year-old Yates.
A murder investigation was launched after Marelle's death and so far nothing has been established to suggest anyone else was involved.
Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
Detective Superintendent Nicola Kilbane said: “Our thoughts are with Marelle’s family and friends, along with everyone affected by this tragedy.
“We are providing her family with specialist support at this incredibly difficult time.”
