Martin Compston has celebrated his birthday with a Celtic-themed cake while he films a new BBC series.
The Line of Duty star turned 39 yesterday and he chose to mark the occasion with a green and white cake with a Celtic logo pasted onto it.
He posed for a photo which was shared by his friend Phil MacHugh as they film Northern Fling, a sequel to Martin Compston's Scottish Fling.
After kicking off the series in Shetland, Martin and Phil will be travelling to Norway and searching for answers on what it means to be from the 'North'.
The Line of Duty star said: “Me and my buddy, Phil MacHugh, are off again, this time to Norway which means ‘Way of the North’…
“North for some conjures up images of cold bleakness and a tough life, but is it really that? I don’t think so.
"We are heading to Norway to get some real northern exposure to the life and the people, at work and having fun.”
