A MAN has been arrested after police pulled over a car and allegedly found a £160,000 cocaine stash.
The 52-year-old has been charged in connection with drug offences on the M74 near Abington.
It comes after officers stopped a car around 2.40pm on Tuesday, May 9 and allegedly discovered the drug haul.
The man is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 10.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We want the public to know that we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove illegal substances from our streets.
“We rely on the public to build our intelligence on these issues and I would encourage anyone to report any concerns or suspicious activity to police by calling 101.
“Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. By working together, we can keep our communities safe.”
