A Real Housewives star and Boy George are among the cast for a new show coming to Glasgow.

A big-budget extravaganza version of Peter Pan will visit the city's Hydro in December with elements of pantomime and cirque in a digitally-imagined set.

The Karma Chameleon singer will play Captain Hook while rising comedy star Jordan Conway will play the titular role.

Meanwhile, Dorit Kemsley of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fame will play a mermaid.

She said: "I am so excited to work with George who is a dear friend and god-father to my children Jagger and Phoenix, who will also be in the show as part of Peter Pan’s gang."

Boy George said: “I’m really looking forward to playing Captain Hook and showing off my evil side!

"I make my first entrance on a life-size galleon that sails around the stage in front of an amazing water-wall fountain.

"Although the show has traditional pantomime elements, it is so much more, being a mix of cirque and spectacular event … and I get a chance to fight a giant animatronic crocodile. What’s not to like?”

The 50-strong cast includes a dozen cirque performers, Irish and Highland dancers, dazzling aerial stunts, a giant battle where the audience can throw cannonballs at Captain Hook’s ship and death-defying stunts.

Tickets go on sale from Wednesday, May 17.
