AN urgent appeal has been issued to trace a teenager who has been reported missing from Lanark. 

John Paul Cruden was last seen around 4pm on Wednesday, May 10 in Airdrie, heading in the direction of Drumgelloch Train Station. 

The 15-year-old's current whereabouts are not known, but he is known to travel to the Glasgow and Aberdeen areas.

Police are appealing to the public for help to trace John Paul, and are asking for any of his friends who have not been in contact to get in touch. 

Inspector Nicol from Hamilton Police Station said: "John Paul has been missing for a number of hours now and every effort is being made to trace him. I am looking for assistance from the public or some of John Paul’s friends who have not yet been in touch. to contact us."

Anyone who has seen John Paul, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 2557 of May 10. 

John Paul is described as being white and 5ft 5ins tall with a slim build and brown hair. 

He was last seen wearing a khaki Nike matching tracksuit and black trainers.
