A pair of good Samaritans have been praised for coming to the rescue of someone who fell onto a Glasgow road.

The person was walking on Skirsa Street in the city's Cadder when their joints 'gave up' due to a disability they have.

The issue caused them to collapse onto the main road and sprain their ankle.

Luckily a woman who was driving by stopped and got out to help, as did a man who was walking nearby and saw what had happened.

Their efforts to help were praised when the story was shared on the local community group no1seems2care.

The post read: "It was so heartwarming and they put a lot of effort getting me back onto my feet and making sure I was safe.

"I never got a chance to properly thank them. They could have very easily just ignored me and gotten on with their day but they didn’t and that’s so important.

"It’s hard getting around alone with a disability and this really makes me believe that there’s good people all around. Thank you so much to these amazing people for making me feel better and making sure I was safe. Thank you."

The post has since attracted hundreds of likes and dozens of comments, with one person saying: "Well done to the lady who helped you out, hope you're feeling better soon."

Another wrote: "People really do make Glasgow."

A third agreed: "Glasgow folks are the best."
