A SERVICE user was forbidden from answering the door in order to cover up an Airdrie carer’s lie.
Daniel Hutton has been warned by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for his actions which took place while employed as a support worker for Local Lanarkshire Care Ltd.
It comes as he called his manager a “derogatory term” in a text message to the support user, known as AA, which read “right that c**t thinks we're away so don’t answer the door till at least 2pm”.
Hutton went on to falsely complete his timesheet claiming to have worked 12pm to 3pm on July 24, 2021, which was untrue.

He has now been shamed by the SSSC for “acting dishonestly by attempting to conceal his actions".
As a result, Hutton has been given a warning to stay on his registration for a period of 36 months with conditions imposed.
These include providing evidence that he understands boundaries, the SSSC's Codes of Practice, and recognising harmful behaviours.
Hutton was registered for around eight months prior to the incident and had no previous history of misconduct.
The SSSC report about the incident said: “You failed to attend your required shift to support service user AA.
“You then told AA not to answer the door in case a manager came to check up as you had told the manager you were with the service user in another town and referred to the manager by a derogatory term.
“You also claimed on your timesheet that you had worked the required shift when you had not.
“You failed to honour your work commitments and your actions left service user AA without support.
“You also exploited AA by asking AA to help you evade detection for not attending your shift.
“You failed to treat your colleague with respect and falsely completed your timesheet in a further attempt to conceal your failure to attend your shift.
“Your actions amount to dishonesty and call into question your suitability to work in the care sector.
“The behaviour involves dishonesty relating to falsifying documents however it is not considered behaviour that is considered incapable of being remediated.”
