TWO roads in Glasgow remain closed after a fire caused the "partial collapse" of a building.

We previously reported the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to a building on Lyoncross Road in Pollok at around 6.30pm on Wednesday evening after a fire broke out.

The building previously belonged to the charity South West Arts and Music Project (SWAMP).

It is understood the fire has been extinguished, however, the building is now considered dangerous after it experienced a partial collapse.

There were no casualties as a result of the fire.

As a result, Barnbeth Road remains closed between Calfhill Road and Lyoncross Road, while a small section of northbound Lyoncross Road remains closed from Barnbeth Road towards Dormanside Road.

Lyoncross Road is fully reopened to southbound traffic and there is access between Lyoncross Road and Barnbeth Road on the east side of the junction.

An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.32pm on Wednesday, May 24 to reports of a building fire in Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the scene at Lyoncross Road, where firefighters were met by a fire within a commercial premises.

"Crews extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.

"There were no casualties."
