NICHOLAS McDonald has revealed his one X-Factor regret ahead of his new show.
The 26-year-old, who lives in Wishaw, shot to fame as a teenager after making it to the finals of the iconic talent show in 2013.
Now a decade later he wants to “bring back some of that magic” by putting on a show at Motherwell Theatre this year.
Nicholas spoke to the Glasgow Times ahead of his upcoming gig and said his only regret is not having the vocal range he does now during his X-Factor run.
It comes as he has worked on how to use his voice and built up more “confidence” since appearing on TV, and now wants to show off his new skills.
He is prepared to “surprise” audiences with how far his singing has come and went on to say how "the word famous” makes him “sick”.
Nicholas said: “Life has been crazy since X-Factor, I’m just taking it day by day but as long as I am singing, I am happy.
“I don’t have many regrets about X-Factor, the only thing I would say is I wish my voice was where it is now.
“I have a lot more confidence and experience now when it comes to singing so I know how to use my voice, I wish I could have showed that off more.
“I want to do a show to mark the 10-year anniversary of the live shows to bring back some of that magic, I think people will be really surprised with my performance.”
Nicholas is also dedicated to making sure his shows are sustainable for everybody as the country battles the cost-of-living crisis.
He turned down paid meet and greet opportunities, instead offering to do them for free so he can meet more people.
The singer even said he felt slightly “guilty” for asking people to fork out cash for tickets as household bills skyrocket, but said he is extremely grateful for the support and vowed to keep prices low.
Nicholas explained: “The cost-of-living crisis has been so hard for everyone, I want to thank supporters by putting on a cheap night so that they walk away feeling great.
“I say supporters because I hate to say ‘fans’, the word ‘famous’ actually makes me feel a bit sick. I think it is cringe.
“Sometimes people recognise me from TV and think it’s weird that I come across as ‘normal’, but I am just a normal Lanarkshire boy who loves to perform.
“I feel guilty even asking people to pay to see me, but I am so extremely grateful for any support I get from people.
“I want to keep prices as low as possible so as many people as possible can enjoy it.”
Nicholas's new show will take place at Motherwell Theatre on Saturday, October 21 with tickets on sale now.
