Childline counsellors have planned a community event to stop abuse towards youngsters.
Staff and volunteers from the NSPCC-run Childline service in Glasgow are using their heads to raise cash for the service by hosting a sponsored Silly Hat Walk.
The event will take place along the river Clyde next month to support the charity’s annual event, Childhood Day.
Walkers will set off on Sunday, June 4 at 11am from Glasgow Green towards the west end, stopping to take a break at the Pacific Quay BBC building around lunchtime.
Childline supervisor, Jennifer Burke, said: “It’s really exciting to be able to get back out as a team into the local community to try and raise our profile, and funds.
“Participants can walk whatever distance they choose because we want to make it as accessible for people as possible.
“People can walk as far as they can manage and this allows most people, who are able, to participate in some way.
“We are really excited to be going out wearing our silly hats and talk to the people of Glasgow about the great work our volunteers do at Childline.
“We are hoping our creative head gear will get some attention and start some conversations about what we do, and of course raise some money for the charity that we are all so passionate about.”
