A popular Italian restaurant has suddenly shut down in Glasgow's city centre.
Roberta’s has now closed its doors on St Vincent Street “with immediate effect”.
In an email, seen by the Glasgow Times this evening, 5pm customers were told the restaurant was cancelling all future bookings as a result.
It went on to apologise to the customer for the sudden abandonment of their reservation, especially since it was a “birthday treat”.
The 5pm email said: “Thank you for booking with 5pm.
"With regards to your booking at Roberta’s on 10/06/23, unfortunately, we have just been informed by the restaurant that they are closing the restaurant with immediate effect and so are unable to accommodate you.
“They have passed on their sincere apologies for any inconveniences this may cause, especially because this was booked as a birthday treat.
“Please accept our apologies on behalf of the restaurant for any inconvenience caused.”
The Glasgow Times called the restaurant to ask about the sudden closure to which a staff member confirmed: “Roberta’s is now closed down.”
The Italian has been posting on social media until two days ago inviting customers to try cocktails and stop in for dinner.
Roberta’s was known for their stone-baked pizzas and handmade drinks before closing their doors this week.
