A MUCH-LOVED beauty salon in Glasgow has announced it is closing after eight years. 

Renfield's Hair and Beauty, which is located on Renfield Street in the city centre, took to social media to inform customers they were closing due to the effects of Covid and price increases in their supply chain.

They thanked clients for their custom and support over the years.

The post on Facebook read: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Renfields.

"The salon has suffered from the effects that Covid has had and price increases across the board from our supply chain.

"We have loved being a part of your lives and hopefully providing you with a first-class service.

"Thank you so much for your custom and support over the past eight years."

Customers of the hair and beauty salon shared their sadness at the news in the comments. 

One person wrote: "Eight years of perfect haircuts and until a few years ago, nail manicures and colour.

"Will miss my journeys into town looking ordinary and returning home feeling fabulous.

"Thank you and wish you all good luck for the future."

Another said: "Really sorry to hear this. You certainly have provided a first-class service...great blethers with Anne Marie and the best head massages from Dale.

"Wishing you all the very best for the future."

A third person added: "Oh no, that’s terrible news. So sorry to hear this."
