UPDATE: Update issued after police lock down Aitkenhead Road

A key road in Glasgow's Southside has been locked down by cops.
Cars are being rerouted through Govanhill due to the police incident tonight on Aitkenhead Road at Calder Street near Polmadie fire station.
Force officers stand guarding the scene which is close to a one o one shop.
A section of the road is completely closed off to traffic.
The route is used to access the M74 as well as the Toryglen, King's Park, Govanhill and Croftfoot areas of the city.
Meanwhile at the other side of Aitkenhead Road where it meets Prospectill Road and Curtis Avenue, cops also stand guard not allowing traffic through.
Glasgow roads department said in a statement: "The junction of Aikenhead Road at Curtis Avenue is currently closed to all traffic due to heavy flooding caused by heavy rainfall this afternoon/evening.
"Please be aware there will be other instances of flooding across the city and exercise caution tonight."

Meanwhile, severe flooding has resulted in Scottish Power taking action to cut power across traffic lights in Southside in G41 and G42. It is not known if the two incidents are related.
