AN EAST Kilbride private nursery has been praised in a report by Education Scotland inspectors.
Kirktonholme Nursery’s key strengths included “children who are happy, confident and make good progress in their learning” and “practitioners who provide well-thought-through and engaging experiences.”
The report also praised senior leaders "who are developing their teams’ knowledge and skills through continuous professional learning” and added that the nursery had “attractive, inviting and well-considered indoor and outdoor spaces across the setting.”
Two areas for improvement were identified. Inspectors said the nursery should “continue to develop approaches to planning to support practitioners to capture the wide range of learning experiences provided” and added: “This will enable them to identify any gaps in learning over time.”
The nursery should also “continue to develop practitioners’ understanding and confidence to track the skills children develop as a result of their nursery experience, as planned.”
