A mobile speed camera van is targeting dodgy drivers on a busy road in Renfrewshire.
The police clampdown follows speed surveys showing that 75% of vehicles are not sticking to the 30mph limit on Bridge of Weir Road.
Police said this has resulted in five injury collisions on the road between 2015 and 2019, with officers receiving complaints regarding dangerous driving behaviour from local residents and councillors.
In recent years, there has been an increase in both road users and foot traffic in the area, with the development of new housing along Bridge of Weir Road.
The close proximity of St Benedict's High School also means there is a high number of vulnerable road users travelling to and from the area on a daily basis.
Alan Bowater, Safety Cameras Scotland unit manager for the west, said: "Anywhere you see one of our safety cameras is a reminder that someone has been injured or killed as a result of speeding at the location.
"Our main priority is reducing the number of casualties on Scotland's roads.
"By enforcing on Bridge of Weir Road, the mobile camera van will remind drivers of the dangers of travelling at inappropriate speeds. For the drivers who persist to travel above the speed limit, the minimum penalty is a £100 fine and three points on their licence."
