Forensics officers have been pictured on a Glasgow street after a man was "seriously" injured.

Police have shut down Glenisla Street, in Tollcross in the East End, following reports of a man who was hurt.

UPDATE: A 50-year-old man has been pronounced dead. Full story HERE.

The incident happened in a flat around 5.05pm on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

The man's condition is not known and officers are carrying out enquiries.

Now, images have revealed emergency services remain in the area and have closed the road between Birnam Road and Maukinfauld Road.

The cordon is being heavily guarded on all sides, with seven officers spotted at the scene along with forensics.

One local said: “I heard the sirens yesterday, then the police locked the street down. 

"We had to sign in every time we left.

"Nothing like this ever really happens around here, they are not telling us anything."

Another resident said: “I didn’t hear or see anything. 

"The police showed up yesterday around 5pm and have been here ever since.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.05pm on Sunday, June 25, 2023, police were called to a flat in Glenisla Street, Tollcross, Glasgow, following a report that a man was seriously injured within.

"Officers and emergency services are at the scene and enquiries are continuing.

“Glenisla Street, between Birnam Road and Maukinfauld Road has been closed to pedestrians and motorists.

"There are no further details at this time."
