Irvine Welsh has updated fans on his new TV series which was filmed in Glasgow.
Crime is set to return for a second series after the first aired in May, and Hollywood star Dougray Scott is reprising his role as troubled detective DI Ray Lennox.
Production crews were spotted filming the series in the city in recent months, and the Trainspotting author has revealed that fans do not have long to wait to see what DI Lennox is up to now.
Welsh said that the second series will be released on ITVX later this year, as well as another project based on his most famous work, the Edinburgh Evening News reports.
Speaking at the Pride of Scotland Awards, Welsh said: “I’ve got season two of Crime coming out on ITVX in September, and I’ve got the Trainspotting musical out in the middle of next year.”
Scott previously spoke of his excitement after winning an International Emmy nomination for Best Performance by an Actor for his role in season one.
The 56-year-old said: “I'm thrilled that I get to continue playing this complex and dynamic character and to once again get to work with this magnificent creative team.
"Season 2 takes us even deeper into Lennox's past, and helps us understand his persona even more.
"I couldn't be happier.”
