POLICE have issued an update on an alleged 'stabbing' in the city's East End. 

We previously reported cops were in attendance at two properties on Walter Street and Aitken Street in the city's Haghill.

Police confirmed they were called to Walter Street at around 1.35am this morning following a report of a man being seriously injured. 

It is understood the man was allegedly stabbed.

The 33-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. 

His condition is not known. 

A 56-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident. 

An investigation is underway. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man seriously injured on Walter Street, Glasgow, around 1.35am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023,

"Emergency services attended and the 33-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

"A 56-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing."
