A top cop has issued a statement following the biggest Orange Order parade of the year.
Thousands took to the streets of Glasgow on Saturday for the event, where Orange Lodge members marched from all over the city before joining at Glasgow Green.
A policing plan was implemented for the parade for safety reasons and the force confirmed that four arrests were made and two fixed penalty notices were issued.
The offences included breach of the peace and anti-social behaviour.
Chief Superintendent Stevie Dolan said: "Officers in Glasgow made a total of four arrests and issued two fixed penalty notices during the Orange Order processions on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
“The offences were primarily for breach of the peace and acts of anti-social behaviour.
”We worked with a range of partners to ensure a proportionate policing plan was in place to ensure public safety and reduce the disruption to the wider community.
“I would like to thank the vast majority of the participants who engaged positively and behaved responsibly throughout.”
