POLICE have provided an update following a major incident in Paisley.
As we have reported earlier, Caledonia Street and Macdowall Street are taped off and a forensic tent was erected as 999 crews combed the scene.
Now, cops have confirmed that they were called to a report of a serious assault around 1.40pm today.
A man was rushed to hospital as emergency services remain on the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Friday, 14 July, 2023, officers were called to a report of a serious assault on Caledonia Street, Paisley.
“A man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Officers are in attendance and some road closures are in place while enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
