A YOUNG actor will take to the stage this week in a stage adaptation of Winnie The Pooh.
Caleb Reynolds will star as Christopher Robin in Winnie The Pooh, The New Musical Stage Adaptation which debuts at the King’s Theatre today as part of a UK and Ireland tour.
A local performer takes on the role of Christopher Robin at each venue, with Caleb being cast after sending in a self-tape audition through his agent.

The production team saw hundreds of other children for the role before the director and the team chose Caleb and another young performer, Tommy Thompson, to share the role in Glasgow.
The 10-year-old explained: "My agency basically reached out to me because there was these people selected for the job because it was like ‘you could probably do the job’.”
"I was pretty happy [when I got the part] because I’ve never had an on stage show before."
He continued: "I really like Tigger and Winnie The Pooh."
Caleb, who has been studying acting at The Performance Academy for two years, has been rehearsing locally since finding out he had the part six weeks ago before he performs alongside A.A. Milne’s beloved characters Winnie The Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit and Owl.
Caleb, from Rutherglen, says he is feeling both "nervous and excited" ahead of tonight’s show, but there will be some friendly faces in the audience across the three shows he’s performing in as several of his friends are coming to the production.
He added: "I said [to my friends] it was Winnie The Pooh and they thought it was kind of funny."

Caleb’s mum Carrie says she was "surprised" when he got the part as he doesn’t have theatre experience but says she can’t wait to see the show.
She said: "I was really quite surprised actually [when we found out he had got the part].
"We’ve done a lot of self-tapes and this is one he was unsure about because it was in a theatre and theatre is not anything that he's experienced before so it was typical this was the one that he actually was given.
"But I love the theatre and I love the King’s Theatre, so I’m really looking forward to going and seeing him this weekend, I can’t wait."
The role will be Caleb’s first stage show after he previously appeared in series six of Outlander as Aidan McCallum before he had taken a single acting class.
While his acting career so far has been a "whirlwind", it's something he really enjoys and is planning to continue with in the future.
Winnie The Pooh will be at the King’s Theatre from Thursday, July 20 until Saturday, July 22.
