A source told the Glasgow Times that the closures happened "without warning" and staff have been left "clueless as to what is going to happen".

A spokesperson for Papa Johns says they hope to reopen the restaurants soon.

They said: "We can confirm that these franchise-owned Papa Johns restaurants in Glasgow and Paisley have temporarily closed.

"We’re grateful to all of our loyal customers in Glasgow and Paisley and hope to reopen these restaurants soon in partnership with another franchise owner."
