A JEALOUS thug attacked his partner who tried to get help by fleeing to a balcony.
Ernest Findlay, 29, turned on the 38-year-old in Knightswood on October 4, 2022.
Findlay was enraged, having believed she had cheated on him.
He punched his terrified victim on the head and body.
She ran outside for help but was dragged back inside by Findlay before police arrived and he escaped.
Findlay pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting the woman to her injury.
The court heard that the pair had been in a relationship for a total of five years.
The pair reconciled in October 2022 after Findlay was behind bars for another matter.
They were together in the victim's flat when the chat turned to her life while Findlay was in jail.
Prosecutor Mark Allan stated that there were accusations that she had cheated on him.
Findlay was asked to leave which made him become "enraged."
Mr Allan added: "He seized hold and repeatedly punched her on the head and body.
"He kicked her on the body while she screamed for help.
"She managed to get from the living room to the balcony when a neighbour heard her screaming."
Findlay then grabbed her and dragged her from the balcony into the living room.
A 999 call was made by the neighbour in the meantime.
Officers arrived but Findlay had already fled the scene.
He was not traced until two weeks later when he was picked up for an unrelated matter.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Tony Kelly who continued Findlay's remand in custody in the meantime.
