A RACIST lout who tried to drag black people off of a bus has been jailed for 14 months.

Frank Mathieson, 55, also lashed out at a family wearing headscarves trying to make their way off.

Mathieson had earlier slapped and spat at a black woman he sat beside.

He called other passengers "Black b******s" and spat towards them.

Mathieson also stated that the bus driver was a "F***** b*****."

He went on to assault a passenger who bravely tried to remove him from the bus.

Mathieson pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting two people.

He also admitted two charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The court heard that Mathieson boarded the number 10 bus in Glasgow's Govan.

He then took a seat next to a black woman who he tried to engage in conversation.

Mathieson was heard to shout "Answer me" before slapping and spitting on her face.

Prosecutor Darren Harty said: "He then stood up and started walking down the bus shouting that all the black members on the bus were black b******s.

"He stated they should leave the bus and leave his country while spitting towards them."

Mathieson then approached other members of the bus and hurled racist abuse at them.

Mr Harty added: "He approached all the black members on the bus and started to pull at their arms as though he was trying to pull them off the bus."

The driver stopped the bus in an attempt to get him to leave.

Mr Harty said: "As the bus stopped, there was a family exiting who were wearing headscarves.

"Mathieson then approached them and began to push them towards the exit of the bus."

It is then Mathieson turned to the driver and called him a "F***** b******."

Passenger Andrew Gould attempted to get Mathieson off the bus by pushing him.

However, he was grabbed by the neck and punched in the face before an altercation took place which was split up.

Mathieson eventually left the bus before striking the windscreen and re-entering to ask if he was being racist.

Mathieson then walked away but was later arrested.

Mr Gould was found meantime to have minor cuts to his neck which caused slight bleeding.

While in custody, Mathieson shouted: "Imagine being a p*** in Glasgow."
