THE Kingston Bridge is set to close for essential inspections. 

Amey is undertaking the inspection works on the M8 motorway between junctions 19 and 20 from Monday, August 7 until Friday, August 11. 

The inspections will take place overnight between 10pm and 6am and signed diversions will be in place.

On Monday, August 7 and Tuesday, August 8 the M8 junction 20 eastbound on slip from West Street will be closed. 

A diversion will be in place via West Street, Kingston Street, King George V Bridge, Broomielaw and the M8 junction 19 eastbound on slip. 

On Wednesday, August 9 and Thursday August 10 M8 lanes one and two over the Kingston Bridge, the Clydeside Expressway eastbound off slip to M8 junction 19 westbound on slip (Stobcross on ramp), the Waterloo Street on slip to M8 westbound and Newton Street to M8 westbound will be closed. 

Diversion one for the Stobcross on ramp closure will be in place via James Watt Street, Broomielaw, Glasgow Bridge, Nelson Street, Patterson Street, Wallace Street and the M8 junction 21 westbound on slip. 

The diversion for the Waterloo Street on ramp and Newton Street on ramp closures will go via Pitt Street, St Vincent Street, Newton Street and Broomielaw before continuing on diversion one. 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout. 

The inspections are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled.
