A CARING pub has raised over £4,000 for two good causes in memory of a beloved customer who died after suffering from cancer.
Habbies Bar and Grill on New Street in Kilbarchan held a fundraising event in memory of Peter Colquhoun on Saturday, August 5, and Sunday, August 6.
Peter, who was a regular punter in the pub, tragically died in May earlier this year.
Joanne Paterson, 54, the manageress at the venue, said the idea of the event was sparked following a conversation she had with Peter before he passed away.
She revealed that the 67-year-old wanted to do something for charity to give back after receiving treatment for his condition.
In total, the pub raised £4,355 for the Beatson Cancer Charity and St Vincent's Hospice in Howwood at the weekend.
Joanne said: "We are absolutely overwhelmed with the amount we have raised for these two amazing charities.
"The weekend was a fantastic success - community spirit is alive and well in Kilbarchan and surrounding areas.
"We really can't thank everyone enough."
