A BUS service was diverted after windows were 'smashed by stones'.

First Bus service X85 was diverted yesterday at around 7.15pm following incidents of "unacceptable anti-social behaviour" in Campsie Glen.

A spokesperson for the company said that this included stones being thrown at the bus which smashed windows.

Police were called to the incident.

The service, which travels between Campsie Glen and Glasgow Buchanan Street, returned to normal shortly after 9pm.

A First Bus spokesperson said: "We can confirm service X85 was diverted last night (Thursday, August 17) for a short period of time following incidents of anti-social behaviour in Campsie Glen.

"These included stones being thrown at buses that smashed windows.

"The police were called to the incident and our services returned to normal after 9pm.
