A Kirkintilloch child carer sent a young teen girl pictures of his genitals.
Connor Ferguson has been struck off the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) register after they claimed he exposed himself online to minors.
The incident allegedly happened on September 30, 2022, as the carer coerced a 15-year-old into looking at a sexual image on social media.
He also communicated indecently with her to obtain sexual gratification, or humiliate, distress or alarm her, according to the SSSC.
The SSSC reported that Ferguson was convicted on October 26, 2022, at Paisley Sheriff Court of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.
He then failed to notify the SSSC of the conviction between October 26, 2022 and June 19.
The care watchdog claims Ferguson has since shown no insight or remorse for the behaviour.
The SSSC report stated: “[You sent] her sexual photographs of yourself, including of your penis, and repeatedly made sexual remarks to her contrary.
“The behaviour which led to your conviction was extremely serious.
“You coerced a child to look at a sexual image and communicated indecently with them.
“Your behaviour falls well below the standards expected of a social service worker and placed a child at serious risk of emotional and psychological harm.
“Your conviction is fundamentally incompatible with the standards and values expected of a social service worker.
“Your behaviour directly impacts the well-being of a child.”
The report added: “As a social service worker you should not behave inside or outside of work in a way which would bring your suitability to work in social services into question.
“You should not have communicated with the child in an inappropriate way by sending them sexual photographs of yourself.
“Your communication with the child was not appropriate and falls well below the professional standards expected of you.
“We have no evidence of any insight or remorse for your behaviour or recognition of the consequences your behaviour had on the child.”
