PLANS to create almost 20 new affordable homes in a popular development in Newton Mearns have been approved by the council.
It comes following a planning application which was submitted earlier this year by Cala Homes to build new council houses in the Maidenhill Farm Development.
In total, the property developer has now been granted permission to build 19 new homes in the area following its successful application.
However, the plans were granted based on several conditions, including that there will be no construction work or offloading of delivered materials outwith the hours of 8am until 7pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturday in order to prevent noise nuisance in the area.
We previously reported the developer submitted plans to build a total of 105 new affordable homes in the area.
Four separate planning applications were submitted.
