Silverburn has raised over £40,000 during the summer thanks to a huge indoor beach.
The Southside retail centre collected a total of £40,831.32 through admissions to Silverburn’s Flamingo Beach as well as sales from the charity’s pop-up store and generous donations from visitors.
A top-up from the centre’s Silverburn Cares programme rounded the total up to £41,000 which will be donated to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity

Funds raised at Silverburn this summer are being used to support babies, children and young adults at the Royal Hospital for Children.
David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, said: “It’s been a busy and fun-filled summer for everyone at Silverburn as we hosted our first Flamingo Summer.
“The generosity shown by our guests has been outstanding. Through what is a difficult time for many, our guests have together raised a phenomenal amount for Glasgow’s young patients. Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed our Flamingo Summer and kindly donated.”
Flamingo Beach, which allowed families to take a break from busy shopping trips and have some quality play time in the sand, was a huge hit, welcoming more than 20,000 visitors during its eight-week-long run, including 10,928 children
Additionally, volunteers from Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, who manned the beach and pop-up store for the duration of its run, were rewarded for their efforts with a complimentary meal donated by the centre’s Wagamama restaurant.
William McGowan, Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, said: “We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited Flamingo Beach this summer.
"A massive thank you to Silverburn for providing this amazing experience for us.
“We are blown away with the total amount raised which will come directly to the charity, helping to fund life-changing projects and equipment at Scotland’s busiest children’s hospital.”
