A popular American chicken chain is offering prizes to the first customers who attend the opening of its new Barrhead store.

We previously reported that Popeyes would be opening its new drive-thru restaurant at the town's retail park on Monday, September 18.

The eatery will open its doors at 11am, with customers encouraged to arrive early to be in with a chance of winning exclusive prizes.

Popeyes has confirmed that the first three people in the queue on opening day, both in vehicles and pedestrians, will win free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year. 

Additionally, the first 25 vehicles through the drive-thru and the first 25 pedestrians in the dine in queue will also be rewarded with a free Chicken Sandwich and exclusive drive-thru merch.

Ahead of the launch, chicken fans can also enter for the chance of winning a famous Chicken Sandwich at the opening of the new venue by signing up at popeyesuk.com/restaurants/barrhead.

To celebrate the launch of its new breakfast menu, Popeyes will also be offering free breakfast muffins to the first 25 cars in the queue at the new drive-thru on Tuesday, September 19.

The eatery will bring flavours of Louisiana to Scotland, with its signature 12-hour marinated chicken and original Southern biscuits and gravy.

The new store, which will be open seven days a week from 8am to 10pm, will include a dining area for 56 people, with 16 seats outside.
