A NEW traffic-light-controlled junction is now operational on a busy road in East Renfrewshire.
It comes after phase two of the work to construct the A77 Active Corridor enters in final stages.
As part of it, a new traffic-light-controlled junction at Ayr Road, Hunter Drive, and Mearnswood Place in Newton Mearns is now operational.
The junction replaces the previous Malletsheugh Roundabout and provides separate crossings for people walking and cycling in the area.
Announcing the news, East Renfrewshire Council said: "The junction design closely follows the very latest best practices and is the first of its kind in East Renfrewshire.
"We have therefore developed the following guidance for walking, cycling, and driving through the junction.
"We hope this will be of assistance to all users."
