While alternative roles have been offered to some employees to reduce the total number of redundancies, it is understood up to 90 people could be made redundant between the Glasgow and Manchester offices.

It is not currently known how many of those will be in Glasgow.

A source told the Glasgow Times the news was like a "bolt from the blue" for employees at the Cadogan Street office and said staff morale is at rock bottom as "families face an uncertain Christmas and future".

esure say their priority is to support all affected employees throughout the process and they have partnered with career transition service provider Renovo who will provide practical support, such as CV writing and interview preparation, to affected employees.
