A MAN has appeared in court following an incident in which the bomb squad were called to at the weekend.
Gordon Smith made no plea at Hamilton Sheriff Court yesterday (Monday, October 2).
The 45-year-old was charged with four firearm offences, making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances, breaching bail and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
It comes after we reported emergency services including police and explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) units descended on a home in West End Drive in Bellshill on Sunday afternoon.
"Items" were allegedly discovered within the residence and safely removed.
Smith, who is listed as having no fixed address, was committed for further examination and released on bail.
His next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
