A MAN caught with indecent images of children told police officers that he was a paedophile.
Steven Armour, 53, was snared with 862 sick pictures of kids at his home in Castlemilk on March 2, 2022.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that officers found Armour inside after raiding the property.
He said: "I have got indecent images and videos on my PlayStation and tablets.
"I have got young kids about two and three years old on it."
Officers seized a PlayStation 3 and tablets with their passcodes provided by Armour.
A preliminary search of the devices recovered indecent images of children and Armour was arrested.
When quizzed, Armour said: "I went online and downloaded images of children between two up to teenagers."
Prosecutor Lauren Sangray added: "When he was asked why, he said 'I am a paedophile, I get sexual gratification from viewing the images'.
"He said what he did was illegal."
A further examination of the devices uncovered the still and moving images of children aged between two and 14-years-old.
Armour pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to taking or permit to be taken indecent images of children.
He also admitted possession of indecent images of children.
Elaine Rae, defending, told the court: "He buried his head in the sand somewhat with this case.
"He said this was due to him having feelings of shame with his involvement in these offences."
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Gerard Bonnar.
He said: "This is a serious matter."
First offender Armour was granted bail and put on the sex offenders register meantime.
