Where are new the rapid charging sites near Glasgow?

Ten high powered chargers, compatible with every electric vehicle on the market, have now been launched by Osprey Charging Network.

The move is hoping to support critical public charging infrastructure with four new public charging sites in the city and its surrounding areas.

The new sites are the Old Gatehouse in Lenzie, the Steam Wheeler in Braehead, Glasgow’s Broomhill Shopping Centre and the Burger King in Wishaw.

These will add up to 100 miles of range in around 35 minutes of charge, depending on the vehicle and its battery.

The four sites will further bolster UK national charging infrastructure, improve local air quality, reduce noise pollution and support local decarbonisation efforts.

Situated in and around Glasgow, the chargers are ideal places to charge whilst grabbing a bite to eat or doing some shopping.

The chargers are easy to use and designed with simple payment for drivers, accepting contactless bank cards, Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App and RFID card payments as well as payments through all major third-party payment methods including fleet cards.

Osprey has funded this installation, operation and oversees maintenance of the chargers which are all supplied with renewable energy.

The company is one of the UK’s largest EV charging networks and has been ranked in the top 5 UK networks for customer satisfaction by Zap-Map three years running.

This year they doubled the size of its rapid charging network to 800 installed charge points.

Marston’s Brewery Group, the landlord for the Steam Wheeler and the Old Gatehouse, as well as Douglas Dickson Property Management, the owner of the Broomhill Shopping Centre, and Burger King all hope to benefit from their now future-proofed car parks and being able to attract more drivers as customers.
