A MAN turned up at his ex’s place of work – despite being banned from speaking or approaching her.

Harris Hayat was granted bail conditions on September 18, 2023, not to communicate, contact or approach the woman.

But two and a half weeks later, the 26-year-old turned up at a food pantry in the city’s Southside – where his ex-partner worked.

Shortly after 2pm, the woman noticed him walk through the doors. She became stressed upon seeing Hayat and immediately dialled 999.

The woman’s colleague ushered him out the door.

A not-guilty plea of resisting arrest and lashing out at cops at his home in Shawlands was accepted by the Crown.

At a sentencing hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Hayat’s lawyer said his client attended the food pantry because he was having difficulties.

The defence solicitor added: “He left after seeing the complainer there. He did not expect her to be there.”

Hayat also appeared in relation to a community payback order review.

His lawyer said: “There is progress being made. The author recommends continuation of the existing order.”

A further review was set for six weeks’ time.

Sentencing was deferred in relation to the matter involving his ex-partner.
