A police investigation is underway in Clydebank following the discovery of an injured man on Friday afternoon.
Officers raced to French Street in Dalmuir after the alarm was raised. The man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The nature of his injuries are unknown.
The force provided no details of the age of the man nor did they say how he became injured. Locals in the area claimed he had been attacked but this has not been confirmed by the force.
The force has one officer manning an area which has been closed off near Dalmuir Square close to Dumbarton Road in the West Dunbartonshire town.
A forensic photographer also appears to be carrying out work within the crime scene which has been taped off.
A witness said: "Police are attending an incident at Dalmuir.
"Five police vehicles and ambulance in attendance. An area of the square has been taped off."
Another said: "They were inside the nearby bus stop taking snaps. They also appeared to be checking a bin for evidence."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.10pm on Friday, November, 3, we received a report of an injured man in French Street, Dalmuir. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing."
