A popular retailer has revealed the opening date for its new store in Paisley.

Hobbycraft will open at the Phoenix Retail Park on Wednesday, December 13.

The new store will offer a range of crafting products from baking, home craft, papercraft, knitting, sewing, kids' crafts and model-making to accessories for weddings and other celebrations.

The arts and crafts retailer is also hosting a grand opening event on Saturday, December 19, starting at 9am.

There will be product offers and exciting activities, including free goody bags for the first 100 customers, as well as live crafting demonstrations throughout the day.

The new store's opening hours will be 9am to 8pm on Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 6pm on Saturdays and 10am to 6pm on Sundays.

A total of 12 new jobs have been created in the local area, with staff to be on hand to provide their crafting expertise.

"Over the last few years, we have seen more people than ever take up crafting and we want to encourage locals to come down to the new store and share their crafting experience.
