GRANTS of up to £1000 are being offered to South Lanarkshire community groups to enhance local spaces.
Community groups that operate near the National Cycle Network can apply for a grant to help improve or enhance the spaces along local paths or to help local wildlife.
Sustrans Scotland is offering the grant to help local groups to secure equipment, training and expert advice with the Love Your Network grant.
The Love Your Network grant is supported by funding from the Scottish Government and delivered by Sustrans Scotland.
It supports community groups in improving their local, traffic-free section of the National Cycle Network.
Local groups could get funding for a range of projects including equipment for litter picking to transform the safety and attractiveness of the local path, tools for maintenance and wildlife management tasks or workshops in wildlife identification and recording.
Sustrans Scotland provides advice, support and funding that makes it easier for people to walk and cycle for everyday journeys.
The organisation is funded by Transport Scotland and uses knowledge and expertise to back hundreds of projects across Scotland.
South Lanarkshire community groups who are eligible to apply have until February 5 to do so, and groups can apply on the Sustrans website.
